Medical testing firm expands in Warrington
AlphaBiolabs, the company best known for conducting the paternity tests for “The Jeremy Kyle Show,” has taken 11,000 sq ft at Lingley Mere Business Park in Warrington.
The company has signed for 3 Clearwater at the Warrington business park, a unit previously occupied by Asics.
The site is AlphaBiolabs’ twelfth. The firm has its headquarters at Webster Court in Warrington as well as sites in Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, North London, South London, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Cardiff and Dublin.
AlphaBiolabs specialises in DNA testing, drug testing and alcohol testing for the public, the legal sector and the workplace. Since the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the firm has invested significantly to provide Covid-19 testing services and expertise in identifying new variants of the virus.
BE Group represented landlord JFW Investments during the transaction. AlphaBiolabs was unrepresented.
This is the second expansion since the pandemic began for AlphaBiolabs, which also increased its headquarters at Webster Court by 7,000 sq ft.
Simon Roddam, director of BE Group, said: “We have seen a significant shift in office enquiry levels in recent months back to pre-pandemic levels. A substantial proportion of office occupiers are appraising their space requirements and adopting new ways of working to reduce costs and to cater for hybrid working. We are clearly pleased to see businesses surviving and thriving in the out-of-town office markets”.
