Next phase of 800,000 sq ft Preston industrial comes forward

HBD Barnfield is seeking permission for 106,000 sq ft of warehouse space on five acres of a wider 62-acre site off Roman Way.

The joint venture secured outline approval for 800,000 sq ft of logistics space east of Roman Way Industrial Estate in December 2023.

Now, the partnership has lodged plans for a 53,000 sq ft unit and a slightly larger 53,800 sq ft shed.

C4 Projects and Iceni Projects are advising HBD Barnfield on the plans. To learn more, search for reference number 06/2024/1260 on Preston City Council’s planning portal.

The reserved matters application is the second to come forward since outline approval was granted. Flooring firm Kerakoll has acquired 10 acres of the site and is pressing ahead with plans for a 140,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution centre.

HBD and Barnfield Group’s wider masterplan proposes 12 warehouses ranging from 26,000 sq ft to 147,000 sq ft close to junction 31A of the M6 and Roman Way Industrial Estate.

The infrastructure around that area is already overwhelmed no doubt Preston council will approve this and add to the already congested roads around Preston
