PD Welch upbeat after good year
Contracts with restaurant group Living Ventures and contractor-developer Watkin Jones helped lift turnover at Birkenhead-based PD Welch Electrical Contractors from £900,000 to £1.3m in 2011.
Neil Mellenchip, group business development manager, said: "PD Welch entered the new year on a real high after a very successful end to 2011. This gives a strong indication of the firm's ambition following its successful merger with Seaking Electrical in May 2010. We are focusing on the industrial and commercial markets working closely with a number of the region's top architects and building firms."
Last year's workload included electrical installation in new offices for chemicals firm GrowHow in Ince, near Chester, lighting for the Port Arcades in Ellesmere Port and power and lighting for Finos At The Waterfront restaurant in Southport.
There was also a £160,000 electrical installation and design for 34 luxury apartments at the YMCA in Chester for Watkin Jones. For Living Ventures, the firm carried out full electrical installations at Manchester restaurants Australasia and Peppermint Bay, both in Spinningfields.
Mellenchip added: "With a number of other exciting deals in the pipeline in the care home and industrial sectors we are set to see even greater growth in 2012."
