Pegasus adds Harrison as latest key Liverpool hire

After seven years with Deloitte, Rachel Harrison has joined the multidisciplinary development consultancy as principal planner.

Harrison’s joining follows the hires of Paul Chandler-King, who arrived from Iceni as senior planner last August, and Ian Ford, who came on board as planning director from Arup in September.

Over the coming months, Harrison will work closely with Ford – the co-chair of Professional Liverpool’s development and regeneration board – to bolster Pegasus Group’s services in Liverpool and the city region, the firm said.

Harrison’s experience includes a number of several Manchester city centre skyscrapers, expertise she will put to use advising on key regeneration projects, including the King Edward Triangle tall building cluster masterplan and the Liverpool Waters project.

Pegasus is working with architect Brock Carmichael on behalf of TJ Morris subsidiary KEIE and the Beetham Organisation on the King Edward project.

Pegasus said it is now the largest planning consultancy in the city.

The group’s director of planning, Darren Muir, said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Rachel to Pegasus Group’s Liverpool office. Her experience with major urban regeneration projects will be invaluable to our expanding enterprise in the region, particularly on the King Edward Triangle project, which is set to reshape how the north end of Liverpool’s city centre functions.”

Harrison said: “It is wonderful to be joining the renowned team at Pegasus Group at such an exciting time. I have no doubt that the business is set to continue on its upward trajectory this year and I look forward to playing a role in this continued growth.”

This all sounds very positve for the King Edward site. Hopefully the team are pushing the boundaries on the 50 storey limit set in LCC’s tall building policy.

Much anticipation locally regarding the KEIE project hopefully more news in the near future.

Pegasus seems to be making a bigger name for itself in Liverpool lately, bringing in some really experienced planners and working on some significant projects.

Hopefully, this will help with the ongoing issues at the LCC planning department.

It’s good to see consultant practices committing to growth in Liverpool. Is this a sign that they think further work (i.e., unlocking developments and growing the local economy) is around the corner?
