Pendle approves 140 homes on former Riverside Mill site
Foxfield Developments has secured outline planning permission to build a mix of townhouses and apartments on the seven-acre industrial plot off Reedyford Road in Nelson.
Leach Rhodes Walker designed the project, which will transform the vacant site formerly occupied by Riverside Mill to deliver up to 140 homes.
Outline plans feature seven one- and nine two-bedroom apartments, as well as 12 two-, 62 three-, and 37 four-bedroom townhouses.
Residents will also be provided with a total of 191 car parking spaces, including 14 disabled bays.
Located next to Walverden Water, Riverside Mill was a 1980s-built steam-powered cotton weaving mill.
Most of the buildings on site were demolished between 2003 and 2009, with only a chimney remaining. The chimney will be retained as part of Foxfield’s plans.
The project team includes planning consultant Zerum, landscape architect DEP, and transport consultant Mosodi.
Curtins is the scheme’s structural engineer. Futureserv is the mechanical engineer. Hydrock is advising on flood risk.
