Place North West launches MIPIM 2023 opportunities
Industry leaders gathered to hear from Manchester City Council chief executive Joanne Roney and Rohan Marwaha, UK managing director for MIPIM organiser RX France, about next year’s show.
“MIPIM is important to the city,” Roney told the crowd at JMW Solicitors’ offices in Spinningfields at the Place MIPIM sales launch. “MIPIM is important to the businesses of the city. And Place North West, you’re important to us too.”

MIPIM is one of the world’s largest property conferences, bringing together thousands of investors, developers, local authorities and more from around the world. The 2023 event will be held 14-17 March in Cannes.
For the North West, MIPIM is a chance to sell the region as a prime spot to invest.
Roney confirmed that Manchester would be attending MIPIM in 2023.
She described the region’s approach to the event: “We go with purpose. We go with significance. We go to do business.”
She added later: “Where Place North West really works with us as partners is in creating that wider network of engagement, involvement, events – the narrative. [Place] really helps work with us as partners to make sure we go there with an agenda and that we’re sharp on selling ourselves and selling this region to a global audience. Place North West is integral to doing that with us.”
RX’s Rohan teased that next year’s event would be bigger and better than ever.
“The UK is represented in force with a number of cities and regions,” he said. “We’ve got a new programme with six stages, which are going to be announced very shortly. We’ve got a new charter for sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
“We’ve learned a lot over the last few years as well about what our clients need and what you guys need to see at MIPIM,” he said. “Ultimately, [MIPIM] is a great place for people to get to come together and do business.”
An official media partner of MIPIM, Place is offering a dynamic range of services to help the public and private sector maximise their time at MIPIM.
Place commercial director Dino Moutsopoulos said: “People should think about working with Place North West because we can connect them across the board – from public sector looking to work with private, or private developers looking to find out who they should be working with in various towns and cities.”
From video interviews to roundtables to private events, Place can help your organisation stand out from the crowd.
Opportunities from Place North West that are available for MIPIM 2023 include:
- Boat cruises: Enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Mediterranean with the industry’s biggest decision-makers on the Place MIPIM boat, which allows you to escape the crowds and engage in undisturbed networking with drinks and canapes.
- Roundtables: Held in-person and turned into videos later, these roundtables can stand the test of time and reach a wider audience than a more traditional roundtable ever could.
- ‘Fireside’ chats: These intimate one-on-one video interviews provide a more informal setting that’s perfect for digging into complex and important topics in a way that’s accessible to those at MIPIM and beyond.
- Event management: Whether you’d like to have a private drinks reception, breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Place can help source a venue and find you the perfect guests for networking and engaging discussion.
- Vox pops: Capture the excitement of your announcements, launches and events with quick interviews with your attendees.
- Advertising: Before and during MIPIM, get your brand in front of the readers of Place North West and our sister site PlaceTech in multiple ways, including website banners, an advertorial piece, branded editorial reports and more.
