PLANNING | New images released of Liverpool flats as schemes approved
Buildings designed by Falconer Chester Hall dominated Liverpool City Council’s planning agenda yesterday, where councillors approved an aparthotel, and 300 flats for a mix of private and student tenants.
FCH was the architect behind four major projects approved, while Blok Architecture advised on the redevelopment of a former care home site, which was also granted planning consent.
APPROVED
Duke Street
On Duke Street, the Falconer Chester Hall-designed scheme will see an eight-storey building around four grade two-listed Georgian townhouses, which are partly derelict.
Henry Space Development, a subsidiary of London-based privately owned property Minton Group, is behind the project of 150 apartments.
The scheme will involve part demolition, repair and remodelling of the existing properties on the plot, with the new build element ranging between four and eight storeys.
Seel Street
Elliot Group was granted planning permission for a 42-bedroom aparthotel on a car park site off Seel Street, as part of its redevelopment of Wolstenholme Square,
The £20m boutique hotel also includes a rooftop terrace, and ground floor restaurant uses.
Renshaw Street
In a staggered building of between five and eight storeys, CityLife Developments is due to build 74 flats on Renshaw Street, near to St Luke’s bombed out church.
CityLife is a joint venture between Frensons and Jamworks, which bought the plot from the council last year.
The site was previously occupied by Kwik Fit and a collection of derelict buildings.
West Derby Road
In another scheme designed by Falconer Chester Hall, Oakmere Services is proposing the demolition of a former petrol station and car repair garage, to make way for a block of flats.
The site on West Derby Road will total 39 apartments.
Park Street
At Park Court on Park Street, the planning committee approved plans for a former care home site which was left derelict, to be redeveloped under plans by developer Graham Clarke.
The cross-shaped block will be made up of 30 flats with associated parking, and was designed by Blok Architecture.
Zerum Consult acted as planning advisor for Duke Street and Renshaw Street.
liverpool continues to move forward, it was a an enjoyable experience supporting 4 out of the 5 schemes from a highway and transport prespective.
