Plans go in for 72-bed Cheshire care home
Liberty Care Developments has submitted plans to redevelop a 2.3-acre plot off London Road in Davenham, south of Northwich.
The application, submitted by Savills on behalf od Liberty Care, will be considered by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
The single-bed rooms would each have an en-suite and an approximate total floor area of 180 sq ft.
The two-storey residential building would provide amenities such as resident lounges, dining rooms, a beauty salon, a library, and a cinema.
A communal visitor’s café is also included, as well as provisions for 24/7 staff, such as office spaces and medical rooms.
The proposal being submitted to the council requires the project to be “cost-effective”, and “dementia friendly”, according to the planning documents.
Across the whole site, current plans would deliver a gross internal area of more than 40,000 sq ft.
The plans outline two garden spaces, one of which would have a central pavilion structure for residents to rest in.
There would be 32 car parking spaces servicing the development.
The development could provide 65 full-time jobs for nearby residents, as well as labour for local contractors.
C Squared Architects drew up the plans for the project, with landscaping undertaken by Allen Pyke Associates. Savills is the planning consultant.
SBK were charged with civil and structural engineering duties, and other consultants included Cameron Rose Associates and Donald Insall Associates.

@ JR – which is that? Nevertheless, Googlemaps tells me that Congleton is a 30minute drive from Davenham, so I’m not sure of the point you’re trying to make?
