Shipping company takes 80,000 sq ft in Cheshire

Gwynedd Shipping has signed a 10-year lease on a unit at Arrow Capital Partners’ Aviator Park in Ellesmere Port.

Aviator 80 is an 81,000 sq ft property located off North Road within the Cheshire industrial estate. The asset is part of Arrow’s €3bn Strategic Industrial Real Estate (SIRE) joint venture with Cerberus.

Aviator 80 is one of two properties comprising phase two of the development. The second unit, a 198,869 sq ft distribution and manufacturing facility called Aviator 200, remains available.

The first phase of Aviator, which is part of the Cheshire Science Corridor enterprise zone, completed in 2020.

This comprised a 125,000 sq ft speculatively developed industrial unit, which was let to personal survival equipment manufacturer Survitec in October 2020 on a 20-year lease.

Gwynedd Shipping will relocate to the new-build Aviator 80 from its current unit at Deeside Business Park over the border in Wales.

“To have signed this lease so soon after completing the speculative development of phase two highlights the continued attractiveness of these big box logistics and distribution facilities in the North West of England,” said Rob Howe head of European real estate at Arrow Capital Partners.

“It also provides evidence to the market that the underlying structural trends driving the growth in demand for large, well-located logistics assets remain relevant despite recent volatility.”

Arrow Capital Partners and Cerberus were advised by B8 Real Estate and M1 Agency. BA Commercial advised Gwynedd Shipping.
