St Helens go-ahead for Taylor Wimpey

The housebuilder will proceed with up to 180 homes at its Sherdley Green development after securing consent.

Taylor Wimpey’s scheme will provide a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes, including apartments, semi-detached and detached homes.

The masterplan also includes open space, while the footpath on Elton Head Road will be widened  with two bus stops added. Construction on site has begun.

Ian Harrison, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “We are very excited that our planning application has now been approved for Sherdley Green and we would like to thank all those who helped to make it happen.

“We are committed to creating long lasting communities and we are confident that Sherdley Green will positively contribute to the local area.

“The development will deliver a range of high quality housing to meet the local need as well as new public open space and we look forward to starting work on site shortly.”
