Torus appoints consultants to £13.6m framework
BTP Architects, Savills and Sutcliffe are three of 28 companies on the framework, which will help the developer deliver 9,000 homes by 2029.
Torus Developments said that the framework would support their builds in Liverpool City Region, Cheshire and Lancashire. The company chose the consultants on the framework based on their commitment to social value and investment.
“In order to meet – and potentially exceed – our goal of building 9,000 homes across the North West, it’s imperative we have a variety of consultants to assist with our diverse programme which includes extra care schemes, listed buildings and high-rise apartments,” said Torus’s group head of development, Anna James.
“With our development programme continuously growing and covering new areas, it is important that wherever we build, we work with partners that share our values and are dedicated to making a positive change to the neighbourhoods we regenerate and support the people who choose to live there to thrive,” she continued.
Social value is important to Torus, which invests at least £5m a year through its Torus Foundation to community projects.
Divided into four lots, the framework includes surveyors, architects and engineers. The total framework is £13,673,000.
The lot with the most budget is EA services, taking up more than half of the funds. With £7,114,000 allocated to it, it includes seven different companies with Tozer Gallagher receiving the top-ranked spot.
Architectural services received the next highest allocation, with £4,313,000. BTP Architects was the highest-ranked consultant in the category.
The third and fourth lots, dedicated to structural engineering and M&E services respectively, each are budgeted for £1,123,000. The top-ranked consultant for structural engineering is Shape Engineering, while ESD secured the top rank for M&E services.
