Trafford Housing Trust brings forward Sale office conversion
Working with architect View Associates and planner Euan Kellie Property Solutions, Trafford Housing Trust has put forward plans to convert Chester House in Sale into apartments.
The housing provider, working with developer Chester House SIPP, has lodged a planning application to transform the office on Cross Street into 24 affordable homes. The existing building is vacant and sits next to Topps Tiles.
As well as converting the existing space, THT is proposing to add one additional storey to the roof, as well as extending the building to the side and rear.
There will be a mix of 15 one-bed apartments and nine two-beds over four floors. An existing bay to the front will be removed, while new brick panelling is proposed around the building, with Laurus’ Homes development just along Cross Street cited as a precedent.
There will be nine car parking spaces provided along with 24 for cycle parking; each of the car parking spaces will be allocated to the two-bed apartments, and this will provided to the rear of the building.
Other office-to-residential projects in the area include a proposal to convert the 34,300 sq ft Capgemini office into apartments and townhouses. This is to include 61 homes in total, but is understood been delayed, with discussions with Trafford Council still ongoing.
Yuk.
