UNIQLO inks 25,000 sq ft Liverpool ONE deal

The Japanese clothing retailer will open its second North West store within a unit on Paradise Street previously home to Tessuti, after signing a lease on the space.

UNIQLO has signed for 25,000 sq ft across two floors at Liverpool ONE. The store is due to open next spring.

The deal, trailed by Place North West this summer, follows a raft of openings for UNIQLO in the UK. This year the brand has opened three new stores; one in Edinburgh and two in London.

Overall, UNIQLO has 20 UK stores, mainly in London. Its only other North West site is on Manchester’s Market Street.

“As UNIQLO continues to expand across the UK, we are dedicated to selecting the best locations to host our brand,” said Alessandro Dudech, chief operating officer of UNIQLO UK.

“Investing in Liverpool, a leading UK shopping destination, was a natural next step, and Liverpool ONE was the obvious choice, given the unique opportunity to open a prominent, showstopping space on Paradise Street.”

Rob Deacon, director of asset management at Grosvenor, added: “UNIQLO is yet another international fashion powerhouse taking a showcase space on Liverpool ONE’s Paradise Street.

“Creating a bold, compelling hub of best-in-class international brands has long been our strategy, playing to the needs and wants of our diverse mix of domestic and international visitors.”

Metis and CBRE acted for Liverpool ONE. Paddy McCormack & Co acted for UNIQLO.

This is a coup for Liverpool One, we used to love shopping there when living in London, it will be very popular with students.
