UNIQLO to take 22,000 sq ft at Liverpool One

The Japanese fashion brand has swooped in with plans for the vacant Tessuti unit, off Paradise Street in the city centre.

The two-floor 22,000 sq ft unit at the shopping complex was vacated by fashion retailer Tessuti earlier this year after they had opted to make it their flagship store less than two years earlier.

Liverpool City Council’s planning department has received proposals from UNIQLO to install illuminated fascia signage behind the glass shopfront at the unit, which was also previously home to New Look.

The plans comprise two internally illuminated fascia signs, six internally illuminated hanging signs, and six window vinyl’s.

Liverpool City Council planners will decide on the signage proposals at a future date.

GAD Design is on the project team.

Liverpool ONE declined to comment on the plans.

To view the proposals, search for application reference number 24A/201 on Liverpool City Council’s planning portal.

Uniqlo were in Speke Shopping Park some years back but that was the wrong venue and they weren`t as cool then as they are now. We used to shop there in London and this will appeal to locals plus the many foreign students at the universities, any chance of a Muji as well.

@Anon 2.26pm Not really – one step forward, two steps back with the loss of COS, Arket, etc. recently with subsequent reshuffles mostly resulting in an increase in tawdry sportswear retailers.
