Urban Splash welcomes back secondee as development director

The Manchester-headquartered regeneration company has confirmed the appointment of David Warburton to the role.

He returns to the firm he previously joined on secondment from 2020 to 2022. Warburton brings experience from being head of public sector land, markets partnerships place at Homes England, and head of land development at the West Midlands Combined Authority.

Back at Urban Splash he will be tasked with the delivery of large-scale regeneration schemes, including a £750m redevelopment initiative with Swansea Council across various sites in the city.

Warburton said: “I am delighted to be back working with Urban Splash colleagues and their inimitable ambition and passion for regeneration.

“I had the pleasure of working with the company for a year from 2020 to 2022 as part of a secondment from Homes England.

“The company’s appetite for innovation hasn’t waned, and I’m incredibly excited to be back and ready to deliver innovative new neighbourhoods in Swansea and other parts of the country over the coming years.”

Asset manager Peter Hadfield has also joined Urban Splash from Peel L&P to bolster and manage its commercial portfolio and workspaces in Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, and Plymouth.

The raft of hires continues with Suzie Scott also joining as an executive assistant to support the directors and executive board, after stints with Sequre Property Investment, Pinnacle, and Ascend Properties.

Urban Splash chief executive officer Julian Curnuck added: “Our forward pipeline comprises over 5,000 new homes and over 500,000 sq ft of commercial space so we’ve been working behind the scenes – growing and investing in our team as we prepare to deliver those projects.

“Our newest colleagues each bring their own talents and brand of ambition and we are delighted to have them with us as we get ready to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.-.”
