Vision unveiled for huge new Manchester F&B venture
Preston-based hospitality firm A Very Inc wants to redevelop the former Presbar Diecasting Foundry on Store Street, creating a beer hall, night market, offices and garden.
Known as The Foundry, the development would be split into two parts. Diecast would feature the large beer hall and brewery, as well as the night market for independent retailers, and a bakery. Diecast Studios would include a gym, tech hub and creative studios.
The scheme aims to boost the leisure provision in order to serve the area’s growing population.
The area around Great Ancoats Street and Piccadilly Basin is seeing several large residential developments come forward.
On the opposite side of Store Street, Property Alliance Group’s 500-home Oxygen was completed last year, while there is a raft of projects coming forward in the emerging Piccadilly East neighbourhood.
In addition, The Foundry site abuts Stocktons furniture shop, which fronts Great Ancoats Street and is earmarked for redevelopment into around 850 homes.
A consultation on the 200,000 sq ft Foundry proposal is now open.
A Very Inc is headed up by directors Joel Wilkinson and Adele Winter, the founders of the Mission Mars hospitality group.
Wilkinson and Winter have had a hand in several popular Manchester venues over the years including Rudy’s Pizza, and music venues Gorilla and Deaf Institute.
A Very Inc’s current ventures in Manchester include Ramona and the Firehouse on Swan Street.
Is this a permanent proposal, or just until the site is redeveloped?

All good for the city centre but letting other areas go to ruin
Moston is only 3miles up the road and being left behind The council are more interested in new comers not long term residents born & bread moston 1959.

I really like the ‘night market ‘ .idea.I would be a regular visitor. It would be great to have a flea market every other week or even weekly.

Far better than building more soulless flats, hopefully it’s permanent and the residents don’t NIMBY this up,
By GH
Can’t imagine too much NIMBYism given the previous occupiers were a bloody nightmare of noise and pollution.

So when was the consultation? . I live next door and am worried about loud noise at night & road congestion. Never had anything through to ask our opinion.
