Vistry plots 120 homes at Halsnead

The housebuilder has applied to build a development off Lickers Lane in Whiston, as part of Knowsley’s 1,600-home garden village masterplan.

Vistry Partnerships, part of Vistry Group, proposes 120 homes with access off Lickers Land, as well as parking for 252 cars, public open space, landscaping, and other associated works.

The development site spans eight acres and is located 1km from Whiston town centre and 3.6km from the village of Huyton.

It is bounded to the north by Lickers Land, to the north-east by the designated Sandfield Park Local Wildlife Site, and to the east and south by agricultural land.

Immediately to the west is land reserved for proposed residential development as part of the approved 1,600-home Halsnead masterplan.

The site consists of rough grass with scattered trees, and other markings associated with agricultural and recreational use, according to planning documents prepared by Vistry’s consultant MPSL Planning & Design.

The homes would be a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments and houses. The level of affordable housing is to be confirmed during the determination process with Knowsley Council.

“The site has undergone an extensive design review, in close collaboration with the client, the consultant team, and the local authority,” the documents said. “The result is an attractive residential development, which will positively contribute to the local area, and will fit well within its surroundings.”

Urban Green is the landscape architect and landscape planner for the project. E3p is the biodiversity net gain consultant.
