Waitrose Northwich opens its doors

H2O Urban, the waterside development partnership between Canal & River Trust and Bloc, has completed the first phase of Hayhurst Quay in Northwich, with the opening of a new 27,000 sq ft Waitrose supermarket.

The 4.6-acre scheme which include a 58-berth marina, restaurant and 58 apartments for senior living to be delivered by McCarthy & Stone.

H2O Urban started construction on the project in December 2012 and the full scheme is set to be built out by the end of 2014. Fairhursts Design Group and HOW Planning advised H20 Urban. The store was built by Russells Construction.

Waitrose has taken a 25-year lease with the freehold of the site retained by the Canal & River Trust.

H2O Urban is actively seeking opportunities to work with third-party landowners where its specialist waterside skills can support development objectives.
