H20 Urban Waitrose NorthwichH2O Urban started construction on the project in December 2012 and the full scheme is set to be built out by the end of 2014. Fairhursts Design Group and HOW Planning advised H20 Urban. The store was built by Russells Construction.

Waitrose has taken a 25-year lease with the freehold of the site retained by the Canal & River Trust.

James Lazarus, head of property development at the Canal & River Trust, said: "Bringing Waitrose to Hayhurst Quay is a coup for Northwich and a great property deal for both H2O Urban and the Canal & River Trust. By working flexibly with occupiers who see the value of the waterside projects H2O Urban delivers, we can match great locations with great tenants and do some very interesting deals."

H2O Urban is actively seeking opportunities to work with third-party landowners where its specialist waterside skills can support development objectives.
