West Gorton housing plans approved

Planning permission has been granted for Keepmoat Homes to deliver 254 new homes for private sale as part of the £50m regeneration project in West Gorton for Manchester City Council.

The scheme will deliver the first phase of the mixed-use development, which will include an NHS medical centre and enhanced open spaces.

The overall development will contain 400 homes and was funded by £30m from the Homes & Communities Agency.

IBI Group acted as town planner, architect and landscape designer.

Proving that he is unable to retire, Eamonn Boylan will be interim chief executive at the government’s housing regeneration agency starting on 15 January.
