Whittaker takes CSC stake towards 25%

John Whittaker, chairman of Peel Group, spent £820,000 on shares in Capital Shopping Centres, owner of the Trafford Centre.

The transaction on Friday 27 April involved acquisition of 250,000 shares at 328.792p, taking his stake to 24.70%. The shares were acquired through Goodweather Holdings, one of his company vehicles.

Whittaker is the largest single shareholder in CSC following the takeover of Trafford Centre in January 2011.

CSC shares were down 5p to 325p by mid-afternoon on Monday. (LON:CSCG )
