Wrenman steps up Lancaster efforts
Already awaiting a verdict from the local authority on a 200-home project, the land promoter has got the ball rolling on a further 260-home proposal off the A6.
Advisor Pea Green has submitted a request for a screening opinion on behalf of Wrenman Strategic Land to Lancaster City Council for a 28.4-acre site on land west of Slyne Road, Bolton-le-Sands.
This will determine whether or not a full Environmental Impact Assessment will be required for a planning application at the site.
The site is irregularly shaped and comprised of several agricultural fields, each bounded by mature hedgerow with several trees at the site boundaries.
It is bounded by the A6 Slyne Road to the east, and residential dwellings on Greenwood Drive, Greenwood Crescent, Ashworth Drive and Pinewood Avenue to the north.
Further homes on Hatlex Hill and Bryn Grove sit to the west, and agricultural land to the south. The topography is notable for a high point in the centre of the site.
As set out by Pea Green, the planning register shows no previous applications for the site.
In February last year, Wrenman submitted outline plans to Lancaster for 200 homes off Slyne Road and Powder House Lane, in Torrisholme. Those plans are still awaiting a decision.
The screening request can be seen on Lancaster’s planning portal with the reference 25/00138/EIR.
There shouldn’t be any building of houses on green belt land , irrespective of what this irresponsible Labour government says . Surely brown field and ex industrial land should be developed first .
When the green belt land has been lost to development it will be gone forever .
