Wrexham agrees to 74 homes and Kop temp extension
Bellway Homes can develop land to the south of Holt Road and the football club will be allowed to keep its makeshift stand for another season – those were the verdicts from yesterday’s planning committee meeting.
Holt Road
Wrexham County Council’s planning committee granted permission for Bellway’s development on condition an amended plan is submitted in relation to access arrangements.
The project is earmarked for a five-acre site with 18 of the homes to be classed as affordable. It comprises a mix of one-, two-, three-, four-, and five-bed properties.
Peacock + Smith, and Astle Planning and Design are part of Bellway’s project team on the development.

Temporary Racecourse Ground stand
Wrexham AFC was also granted an 18 month extension to its permission for the temporary 2,289 seater stand at its stadium off Mold Road.
With work yet to start on the permanent 5,500 seat structure at the Kop end, council planners have agreed to give the club added time to the retrospective permission for the temporary stand, to enable a permanent one to be built.
Morgan Sindall Construction will deliver the permanent structure, designed by AFL Architects, for which permission was granted at the end of 2022, but has since been held up by grant funding delays.
